On February 15, 2024, Atlassian has discontinued technical support for its server products. Which means that running server instances without support is a risk - obviously not sustainable for companies.

Atlassian has disclosed an XML External Entity Injection vulnerability in Jira Service Management under ID CVE-2019-13990.

Now is the right time to act: Support for Atlassian's server products will end on February 15, 2024. Not only that, but as of that date, there will also be a price increase for Data Center Edition products.

On February 29, 2024, the beta test phase of the Confluence Whiteboard will end and Atlassian will gradually introduce the new feature for all Confluence Cloud users. This will take place over several months. Customers who use Data Residency and/or Backup and Restore will only be able to benefit from this function at a later date.

Exciting news for all Jira Cloud users: Atlassian has modernized and optimized the issue search experience to provide a faster and more efficient search experience. Atlassian has revised its security products and bundled them under the new name Atlassian Guard . The previous solutions Atlassian Access and Atlassian Beacon Beta have been renamed Atlassian Guard Standard and Atlassian Guard Premium. These two products aim to improve security for Atlassian Cloud customers. They protect access to sensitive data and detect threats at an early stage. However, these features are not available for Data Center customers. Atlassian Guard Standard and Premium are only available in the cloud. Data center users must fall back on alternative security solutions.

On October 16, 2024, price and package changes for various Atlassian products will take effect. These changes affect the prices for the cloud versions of Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Opsgenie, Bitbucket, Atlassian Guard (formerly Atlassian Access) and Compass.

Jira schemas are a complex and sometimes difficult to understand area of responsibility. And not only for new Jira administrators, but also for Atlassian veterans. It is not uncommon for a Jira admin to have to laboriously work their way through many different schemas when a customization is required. With larger and historically grown systems, there can even be hundreds of schemas.

Until now, the issue of data residency was a knock-out criterion for many European companies when it came to the Atlassian Cloud. Only customers of the Enterprise license were free to choose whether their data should be stored in the EU, the USA or worldwide. Users of the Standard and Premium licenses, on the other hand, had no choice.

Atlassian has recognized that this is a blocker for many (potential) customers and is now relenting: From 01.07.2021, you can create new cloud instances in any realm (EU, USA or worldwide) at no extra cost, regardless of whether you are a Standard, Premium or Enterprise customer.
